Slone Partners Announces CEO Appointment at Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories (PAML)

Miami Beach, Florida – February 10, 2012 - Slone Partners, a premier provider of recruitment services for the diagnostic laboratory industry, announced that Francisco Velazquez, MD, has been appointed CEO of Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories (PAML), one of the nation’s largest clinical laboratories. Dr. Velazquez has replaced long time PAML CEO Tom Tiffany, who will be retiring.

Dr. Velázquez brings an outstanding background to his new role as CEO of PAML. He is an experienced physician executive with a strong clinical background and business leadership skills. He completed fellowships in both anatomic pathology and laboratory medicine; is board certified in clinical pathology; and holds a master’s degree in Healthcare Management & Policy from Harvard University.

Dr. Velázquez comes from Quest Diagnostics where he served as managing director of Nichols Institute and managing director/vice president for Focus Diagnostics in San Juan Capistrano and Cypress, California. He had direct oversight for the reference laboratory testing business at both laboratories as well as the clinical trials division at Focus Diagnostics. “We are extremely pleased with the appointment of Dr. Velazquez as PAML’s new CEO, said John Fletcher, Vice President and Chief Executive of Washington Montana Region for Providence Health and Services, and Chairman of the Board for PAML.
